The Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative (CJRLC) was a multi-type non-profit organization who helped over 500 libraries in Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties, NJ, to meet their patrons' needs.

On July 20, 2010 the Executive Board and the members met at the Stella Maris Retreat Center in Long Branch and voted to dissolve the 501c3 non-profit cooperative which was formed 25 years ago in October. Norma had indicated in her webinar that we did not have to dissolve, but the new Region will handle our major responsibilities and all programs that wish to continue have found a home. And without funding there was no easy way to continue. Our listserv is a Google group and can stay active as long as necessary, but the new Region will be the basic method of communication going forward. All CJRLC members will automatically become members of the new Region. We are all working to make this as seamless as possible and we know that Cheryl O'Connor and her staff will do everything they can for the libraries of NJ!
At our 1 PM meeting, after the vote to dissolve, we celebrated some of the accomplishments of CJRLC as members shared memories of some of the programs they were part of. Karen Hyman, Dottie Hiebing, and Leslie Burger also shared stories of the early days. We have much to be proud of! That evening was my retirement party at the Barclay in Belmar. Marian, it was my ideal retirement party: you got up up and said, "She did what she could, she plays well with others, and everything that was done well was done by many bright, caring, and enthusiastic people!" Then we partied!
About the auction: People have been notified if they had successful bids. Many items can be picked up right away. Some, like the phone system, will have to stay until August 27, 2010, our last day. Everything must be gone by August 27. We would appreciate the checks for any purchases ASAP because we are closing our books.

CJRLC and its services were funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion, and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.
