Delivery (The names CD&L and Velocity are interchangeable)
ID# Lookup and Label Generator
Thanks to Pete Bromberg, SJRLC's Program Development Coordinator & Web Master, for creating this great way to print CD&L labels...
CD&L delivers on a one to five day per week schedule. Two day per week service occurs on Tuesday and Thursday. Four day per week service occurs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. An option to purchase a fifth day is available.
CD&L has assigned every library in the state with an ID number, which is to be used along with the library address on the delivery label. Utilizing the number system will ensure that the sort, distribution and delivery will be smooth and efficient. When shipping items, please make sure to write the four-digit ID number legibly near the Regional designation letter (S, C, H, or I) on the shipping label.
All Delivery Lists contain Library name, address and ID number
and are updated as changes are received. All regions alphabetically: ExcelPDF All regions by district: ExcelPDF
The CJRLC Member Directory has also been updated with CD&L ID numbers.
What can YOU do to help?
Train staff to provide full, correct and clearly written addresses on delivery shipping labels.
Train staff to use the CD&L ID numbers on every package shipped. (We see many examples of packages without numbers.)
Train staff that CD&L will only deliver to other libraries that are on CD&L. (Not all libraries are on CD&L. If a library does not have a CD&L #, items need to be sent via US Mail.)
Train staff to note the actual ship date on the label rather than the date the package was processed.
Put your library's ID number in the area, shelf or box where material is picked up and delivered.
Package materials in plastic bags.
Package materials in sturdy boxes.
Train staff that boxes may weigh up to but not greater than 50 lbs.
Do your best to ensure materials arrive in good condition (e.g. don't tape labels directly to materials).
Communicate any delivery issue or problem promptly to the CJRLC office.
For additional information about CD&L policies and procedures,
see Infolink's Delivery Service page.
CJRLC and its services were funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion, and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.
